We like visiting Cecil's Country Store and Cecil's Old Mill. I saw they were having a big sale and we planned to check it out.
We lucked out and got a parking spot in the parking lot. There were many people there and they had extra parking in some grassy areas too. We didn't plan to buy anything, although you never know what you find in sales like this, but we love going and looking. There were lots of vintage furniture items. There were also vendor booths between the store and the parking lot.
We checked out all the vendor booths and the outside displays before we went in the country store.

Another old stroller
Gary liked the cars in this painting.
Old kitchen utensils
The old post office inside the store
Lots of cute homemade items
Local souvenirs
They have reused the old refrigerator display case.
A blast from the past! We had some of these McDonalds glasses growing up. My sister worked at McDonalds for a couple of years when a new one opened up close to our house.
We crossed the street to the Old Mill.
First we went to see what was outside of the mill.
This little tractor was adorable, but it was already sold.
Then we went in the mill. I love looking at the old parts of the mill that are still there. The items for sale are displayed all around the inside of the mill building.
Gary found some planes. He is always looking for woodworking tools.
I thought these trees were cute.
Santa painted on old oyster shells.
Oysters are a big deal in southern Maryland
The U.S. Oyster Festival which includes The U.S. National Oyster Shucking Championship is here in St. Mary's County, Maryland every year in October. We have lots of watermen here in the county and great seafood restaurants too. I personally am not a fan of oysters, but I know many people are.
We had a fun day checking out all the items for sale and ended up not purchasing anything, but it was still a fun day.
